73 years ago, this is how I wrote my books. There were no typewriters or computers. Well of course typewriters existed in companies but certainly not in the average home. I could type, because I was learning shorthand and typing at school. At first I began writing THERE AIN’T NO GLORY in shorthand, but then I discovered there were a lot of words I still hadn’t learned. So originally the book was written in a mixture of shorthand and long hand. I always used pencils because it was easier to erase all my errors. Not to mention of course that (Ball-point pens) Biro’s as they were
were called then, were only just beginning ot be used in schools. We still used what looked like a stick with a nib on the end and our little tubs of ink on our desks. So for each book that I wrote I used countless number of note books. Obviously as an old lady, I’ve seen so many changes over the years, some good and some not so good, but the computer, well to me, that is still like absolute magic.
